Collaborative Writing Assignment # 1:

"Does all Architecture have to be by Architects?"

Due Sept. 22nd, 12:20 PM;

Late penalty until noon, Wednesday. Limited 500 – 750 words“Does all Architecture have to be by architects.”

You must have three people to a team, NO exceptions.

Each team member will start by investigating three quotes (and you must cite these quotes) that defines if architecture has to be by architects or not. Remember, each team member must have three quotes, all different and from respective sources. No explanation of those quotes are necessary.

You will then collaborate with your team members and form one 5-paragraph essay (approx. 500-700 words) and turn that in as one group. Where you turn it in, on Blackboard. If this changes, we will let you know of those changes. Each team member will also need to attach their quotes they've researched and their explanation of their support for architecture by architects or not.

So, you paper or be structured like this:

Paragraph 1: Provide an Introduction to the paper. Basically you are going to tell us what you are going to talk about. You will point out the three main ideas that you will discuss. So in this point, one should be about the definition of architecture, the other two  about your perspective is architecture requires an architect and whether is does not. You have to explain for both perspective; for it and against it.

Paragraph 2: This is where you explain what your definition of architecture is.
Paragraph 3: Then you need to present your perspective view what architecture might not need an architect.
Paragraph 4: A presentation of your perspective view of why architecture would need an architect.
Paragraph 5: Then Conclude your paper by giving a stand which perspective you prefer. Summarize everything you've discussed.

This part is very important. The university at the English Department will assist you in writing a good paper. Find out where this service is, you are paying for it so take advantage of it. Have them assist you in perfecting the paper. The better the paper, the higher the grade.


You must cite everything! We want a Work Cited Page at the end of the essay.
